a texas christmas

 around 1:00 pm it was time to open presents...

 (i think the books my sister and i made were a success!)

  and we actually ended up having a very snowy white christmas in texas after all!

 while we were in texas we were able to surprise these lovely ladies with a visit!

 it was so nice to see the wilson crew!

and shane and i were also able to see this beautiful woman go through the temple to prepare for her mission! it was a wonderful experience!

over all it was a fantastic christmas break even with the unexpected snow. full of games, friends, laughter, tons of driving, home made meals, high school state game at the cowboys stadium!, family time, and many memories! cant wait to visit again...i miss it already.

texas visiting utah

well it's monday which means i woke up and didn't have a little brother sleeping on my couch this morning, which was WEIRD! ha we dropped off my mom and brother at the airport yesterday afternoon and said our goodbyes. it was a really fun week and we enjoyed having them. the house is SUPER quiet now which is kinda creeping me out. after our zoo adventure on tuesday we chilled, played some ticket to ride, went shooting, cut some hair, and ate..a lot! 

now it's time for the hubs and i to get ready for his family reunion starting thursday. the sanders are in charge this year so it's going to be a chaotic, crazy, good time! i'll be sure to post pictures once we get back.

the sister got hitched.

so it's taken me awhile to post since we've been back. with work getting back on schedule, two classes this summer, and shane starting to work on the mountain again it's been a bit busy. BUT i did promise a recap, so here it is!

wednesday- the hubs and i went up to oklahoma to visit some friends. we hadn't seen them in over a year so it was nice to see them and their kids and catch up.

thursday- funny story: the hubs, my brother nick, and myself went for a ride on the jetski. we had a blast, it was a perfect day for it and then we lost the key. oops! as our punishment shane and i had to swim it all the way back to my grandparents house. i definitely got my work out for the day. every one thought it was a joke since a year ago, the last time the three of us took the jetski out, we lost nick's glasses. ha oops again!
later that afternoon my uncle flew in from north carolina and we all headed down to a bbq for family of both courtney and miles (my sister and new bro-in-law).

friday- abby, a good friend of mine and the photographer, flew in. then it was time for the rehearsal  and rehearsal dinner but not before we headed to the nail salon to get our nails lookin good!

saturday- THE DAY! and man was it crazy. woke up, went to the venue, decorated all morning, went to get lunch, got back to the venue, found out half of the order was missing, went back to get the other half, chowed down fast!, finished setting up, went and got hair and make up done, slipped into our dresses, and we were rushed out the door to start heading down the isle. BUT even through all of that chaos, it turned out beautifully! courtney looked amazing, miles didn't look to bad himself (he cleans up nicely). the weather thankfully was all blue sky. it was suppose to rain that entire day but thankfully mother nature changed her mind. the food and cake were yummy. and my sister was happy, what more could i ask for :)

congrats miles and court! i wish yall all of the best in life and can't wait to share many memories together now that we are both old married people ;)

back home and exhausted

texas was great! had a wonderful time with the family. a chaotic time with the wedding. BUT it went smoothly the day of and turned out great. although the hubs and i had a lovely time in texas (more stories about that later) we are glad to be home and back in our own bed. i must say that we are terribly exhausted though. might take a few days for re-energizing. time to get caught up on work, stuff around the house, and summer school work for me. whoo. which means...it might be a little while before i get some pictures up of our trip to the good ole south.

SO i wanted to at least put up this video that my dear uncle scott introduced me to after the bride, himself, and i went and had our nails done before the wedding. i couldn't help but laugh since we had JUST experienced this.

a post full of randomness.

one. avengers. WOW! seriously amazing. no joke! loved every minute of it. the actors were awesome, the humor was excellent. go see it. now!

two. the song of the week has been this! i don't know if it's the beat or what...but it just gets me in a dancing mood every time it comes on...thanks pandora! the music video is yes, very corny and just awkward in my opinion, but the beat! ah, kills me.




and three. the hubs and i are TEXAS bound tomorrow morning! yay! my little sister is getting married. *sigh* seems like just yesterday we were in our room playing barbies and watching disney channel. those were the good times. wish me luck with all of the setting up and trying to keep sane through all of it. ha we are excited about the fun week we will have in the humid texas heat. a post about the activities will come up once we have returned.

dear avengers: please be an amazing movie! the hubs and i have been SO looking forward to it and it would be terrible if we ended up disappointed. 

dear texas: i'm coming! in THREE days! excitement! 

dear work: i'm ready for a break from you...actually a two week break and i think it will begin on monday.

dear bed, bath, and beyond: thank you for letting me find my purple fiesta dishes, you made my day!

dear spring semester: it's been...fun? not really. but thanks for finally being over. 

dear weather in utah: although i will be away from you in two weeks, i expect it to stay warm once i return. none of this eighty degrees one days forty degrees the next anymore.

dear pintrest: thanks for always being there when i've been board at work.

it is eighty degrees and way sunny outside. 

one last assignment to turn in and then goodbye spring semester.

saturday morning shane and i made our way to anaheim, ca for our honeymoon! we went to disneyland and california adventures! we had a blast :)

it was tons of fun getting away for awhile on a new adventure.

after we got back we went to shane's family reunion. there was a little over 100 people there, so basically it was HUGE for me since i'm use to a small family. we all had a good time.

AFTER the jepson reunion we drove the trek to texas for the reception. it was fun to see everyone and spend some time with them. the reception there went great as well. we had tons of people show up to help decorate, and stay to help take everything down. shane's parents and shane's sister and her family, halie, michael, adrienne, and logan were also able to come down for the reception which was awesome. a lot of people from shane's mission was also able to be there which was really exciting for him.

by the time everything was over and we made it back home we were exhausted and super glad that all the festivities were done. the next day we went back to work and started our 'real lives'. and it has been great! we've loved every minute of being married for these past (almost) 3 months. our schedules are pretty hectic and crazy but we make it work. we are excited to see what else is in store for us :)
