it's time to say goodbye to an era

as the years have gone on, they have grown up and so have i.

i was eleven years old when one tree hill aired it's first episode in 2003. i was hooked instantly and have been a dedicated viewer ever sense watching every tuesday, wednesday, or thursday it was on (it changed a few times). the show gave me a place i could turn to...to live vicariously through brooke, peyton, and hailey's boy troubles, the hate then love brother relationship between lucas and nathan, and the friendships and bonds each one of them created along the way. they were in a way "my friends"...yes i get a little too attached to the characters of tv shows. and after they announced that this ninth season would be the last it was hard to wrap my head around because for as long as i could remember they were there. through the heartbreak, friendships, car wrecks, births, dealths, psycho-stalkers, weddings, shootouts, and so much more...it was a crazy awesome show!

tonight was the end and i would be lying if i said i didn't let a tear or two fall. i couldn't have asked for a better finale for one of the best shows, in my opinion. to see quinn and clay become husband and wife and start a family with logan. brooke raising her family in the house she loved and grew up in. mouth becoming a sports broadcaster, creating the scott edwards scholarship in honor of jimmy and keith, and starting a family with millie. nathan raising his own son and having him play sports for himself, not for anybody else. seeing everyone gathered together at karen's cafe and then again as the ending scene of a raven's basketball game to cheer jamie on.

thank you one tree hill for being a part of my life for so long and in a way being my friend. you better believe i will be buying each season on dvd so i can relive the memories over and over :)

"Make a wish and place it in your heart. Anything you want, everything you want. Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true. You never know where the next miracle is gonna come from, the next smile, the next wish come true. But if you believe that it's right around the corner, and you open your heart and mind to the possibility of it, to the certainty of it. You just might get the thing you're wishing for. The world is full of magic. You just have to believe in it. So make your wish. Do you have it? Good. Now believe in it. With all your heart." – Brooke Davis, Julian Baker, Haley Scott, Nathan Scott, Clay Evans, Quinn James, Mouth McFadden, Millicent Huxtable, Chase Adams, Chris Keller
